Our Story
Parker Art Restoration was founded on a deep respect for craftsmanship, legacy, and the enduring life of art. At its core is Earl Parker, a renowned artist and restorer with over four decades of experience. A Philadelphia native, Earl trained at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and the University of the Arts, mastering oils, watercolors, acrylics, and pastels.
Early in his career, he became a sought-after illustrator and muralist, working with clients like PepsiCo, AT&T, and Merrill Lynch. But his practice took on deeper cultural significance when he was commissioned to restore the first printed edition of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address - a piece later presented to President Barack Obama. That moment affirmed what Earl had always known: art is history, and it deserves to last.
This belief led to the founding of Parker Art Restoration. Co-created with his longtime partner Karen Wellington, a former marketing professional and creative director, Karen brought sharp visual instincts and strategic insight to the studio, qualities that translated seamlessly into the world of conservation as she immersed herself in the craft, developing her own technical skill. Together, they built something rare: a studio rooted in mastery and mindfulness, where every piece is treated not just as an object, but as a story worth preserving.
Over the years, Parker Art Restoration has become a global leader in fine art conservation, with work featured in galleries and museums worldwide. The studio has also been trusted to restore contemporary pieces by iconic artists such as Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Roy Lichtenstein.
Today, Parker Art Restoration continues to evolve with a dedicated team at its helm, carrying forward the same thoughtful approach that has defined its work for decades.
